Sideways Down is a Rhode Island-based cover band featuring husband-and-wife team Jack Cabral on rhythm guitar and vocals and Erin Cabral on vocals, with Joe Carta on bass, Paul Anderson on lead guitar, and Marc Rene on drums.
The band delivers a six-decade musical journey from the heart of classic rock to modern Americana. Starting with the early rock and roll and rockabilly of the 1950s, Sideways Down moves through soulful sounds and psychedelic and country rock of the 1960s, and the heart of classic and southern rock in the 1970s.
The 1980s bring new wave and rock crossover hits, the 1990s introduce alternative and roots rock and blues-rock revivalists, and the 2000s–2020s feature modern Americana and southern rock. Across all decades, the band explores blues, soul, country, jam-band influenced rock, and alternative roots rock, giving each song a faithful yet personal interpretation.
More than just the familiar chart-toppers, Sideways Down offers something for every fan of American-influenced music, from well-loved hits to deep cuts and unexpected medleys. Signature moments highlight the band’s rhythmic drive, tight musicianship, and dynamic arrangements. Whether it’s crowd favorites, obscure gems, or inventive reinterpretations, Sideways Down delivers groove, precision, and a performance that makes every show a musical journey across eras and styles—nostalgic, captivating, and unmistakably their own.
